Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland Wedding Videographer.
Kate & Rob’s Bamburgh Castle wedding was the most spectacular day!
After dealing with postponements they decided to turn their dream castle wedding into a more intimate affair. Bamburgh Castle has all the magic of a fairytale castle, with its breathtaking sea views and an impressive combination of history and elegance.

Given the exposed coastal location of Bamburgh Castle (which makes for some incredible views!), a last-minute decision had to be made in the morning, as to whether their wedding could happen outside as originally planned, as rain showers and very strong winds were happening frequently. It was their dream to get married on the battery terrace at Bamburgh Castle, which overlooks the sea, a truly idyllic setting, so hoping for the best, it was decided that they would go forward with their outdoor wedding and keep their fingers crossed that the weather would hold out for them.

It was our first time as Bamburgh Castle Wedding Videographers, and we couldn’t believe how stunning the views are out of the castle windows, the winds were very strong which was creating a wonderful soft effect on the water which we couldn’t help to capture.

The morning was wonderfully relaxing, just Kate and her mum getting ready in a quaint little castle room. We were escorted by the venue, as the castle was now closed to the public for the day, the grounds of Bamburgh Castle stood empty and quiet with excitement and anticipation as the last few touches were made. Kate’s mum couldn’t help but shed a few tears realising that today was finally the day, and gosh, how beautiful her little girl looked.

Kate’s dad took her by the arm before walking through the castle grounds to the ceremony location on the gun terrace. Guests were eagerly awaiting the first glimpse of the bride and commenting on how Bamburgh Castle is the most surreal place to be getting married.

Thankfully, the skies cleared as the couple joined together at the end of the aisle. They both shared wonderfully personal vows in front of their families and friends and by choosing to have an intimate wedding at Bamburgh Castle this moment felt even more special as all guests seemed to be wrapped closely around the couple during their most memorable moment, as they become husband and wife.

With a celebratory glass of champagne, guests retreated to the King’s Hall at Bamburgh Castle where the walls are adorned with beautiful pieces of fine art, and dramatic ceilings as the sunlight shone through the room really adding drama to the day.

After group photographs, we took the couple, along with their photographer to make the most of the gorgeous natural lighting around the castle grounds and on the beach. As a Bamburgh Castle Wedding Videographer, we were spoilt for choice when it came to backdrops for the couple, from old castle walls to wide open vistas we couldn’t get enough!

We scaled down the path towards the beach, a short walk through sand-swept paths. Rob, being the gentleman he is, helps his beautiful bride down the larger sand banks to access the beach.

Can you even believe that these white sand beaches are in Northumberland? We couldn’t either! Enjoying the day so much, the chill from the wind didn’t bother Rob or Kate in the slightest as they raced towards the sea to dip their toes.

Looking back from the beach you get the most stunning view of Bamburgh Castle.

Fresh from doggy daycare, the couple’s two charismatic dogs were brought to the beach to join us for a quick walk, after all, it wouldn’t be right if they didn’t make an appearance at some point, they are family after all!

For anyone wondering whether or not to bring your fur babies along to your wedding day – we vote – absolutely yes!
“WHEN THE DOGS STARTED RUNNING ON THE BEACH I BURST INTO TEARS, IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!” KATE

We all headed down the road to a beautiful stone restaurant called The School House in Lucker, which provided the perfect setting for an intimate wedding reception, confetti was thrown and guests sat down at a large long table bringing both sides of the family and all of their friends together easily. Laughter and conversation filled the air, reminiscing the day, but also talk of excitement that Kate and Rob had a second, and much larger wedding celebration on their family’s farm planned the following week!

The evening was finished with hilarious speeches, and a quiz about Rob and Kate that left eyes crying with tears and some shocked parents in the crowd, especially concerning a certain story about how Kate lost her engagement ring near a waterfall when they were in South East Asia, only for Rob to return later on and somehow manage to find it!

We had the most wonderful day capturing wedding videography at Bamburgh Castle, the whole day blew us away, intimate weddings have such a personal closeness to them it’s infectious!
